About the Artist
Terry Gay Puckett was born in Amarillo, Texas, and has lived in San Antonio, Texas for over 40 years. She has won awards for her water base paintings and painterly enamels, and is included in private and public collections. She recalls, "One of my earliest memories is standing in my crib working on a mural on the bedroom wall with a red crayon."
Most recently, She has designed the vitreous enamels for the baptismal font, created full scale design and enamel work for the processional cross, a children's cross, and torches for St. Luke's Episcopal Church in San Antonio, Texas. Her work has been juried into the "International Biennal de L' Esmalt" in Salou (Tarragona) Spain in July 2007. She has also exhibited enamel work in Argentina, Honduras and France.
Her work has been published in "Images Magazine," "San Antonio Vision Magazine," and "Into A Larger World" a book of prayers, by Howard Hovde. Her work can also be seen in publications featuring members of the Society of Layerists In Multimedia, "Bridging Time and Space," and in "Texas Watercolor Society, Fifty Years of Excellence." She has served as a juror for various art organizations and enjoys participating in art- related volunteer projects in her community.

Educational Background
Terry Gay Puckett has attended Mount Vernon College in Washington D.C., Colorado University in Boulder Colorado, St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. She has attended enameling and water base media workshops, studying with highly acclaimed artists from all over the world.

EXPERIENCE
Terry Gay Puckett is a Professor Emeritus of Art at St. Philip's College, San Antonio, Texas, and currently teaches an internet drawing class as an adjunct at SPC. She also teaches art techniques and inspirational classes at Paloma Studio, her home base in San Antonio. She has traveled extensively throughout Mexico and Guatemala, teaching workshops on experimental methods in multi-media painting and sketching. She was the first faculty member of Explore Guatemala. In addition, she is a accredited teacher of T'ai Chi Chih.

Media
Puckett works in vitreous enamel on copper and steel, fired between 1500 and 2000 degrees, using two and three dimensional techniques. Other favorite media include acrylic and watercolor painting, portraiture, printing, and multimedia layering techniques using acrylic and watercolor with found object materials.
